HUNTING INFORMATION

Climate, Clothes & Equipment

In South Africa, the temperatures can vary from as much as 40°C (November – March), to as low as -4°C (April – October). Rainfall is mainly encountered in the summer months and would typically be of late afternoon thunder showers, which are fierce, but of short duration.

Neutral in colour, khaki or green are the best suited for hunting clothing. For colder mornings and evenings a warm jacket, sweaters and gloves are recommended as well as a good pair of walking/hiking boots, cap/hat and sunscreen. Hunting conditions can vary from bushveld to the more open grasslands and plains of the higher altitudes.

In South Africa we use 3-pronged, round hole plugs and the electrical supply is of 220v. When bringing any electrical appliances please ensure that you bring the necessary converters to suit our power supply.

A good pair of 8x or 10x binoculars are also strongly recommended.

Medical

It is recommended that you bring your own supply of medicines if you have any medical conditions or allergies. A well stocked First Aid kit is carried in each hunting vehicle. South Africa is virtually malaria free, apart from the Northern parts along the Limpopo, the Eastern part of Mpumalanga, and North Eastern Kwazulu-Natal. If your hunt takes you to these parts, we will notify you in advance so that you can consult your physician on what precautionary medication he would advise you to take. It is also advisable to bring insect repellents in the summer months.
